When in Venice I spotted these two gondoliers taking a break. The contrast of old and new  amused me. Traditional and contemporary life combined, as evidenced by the ancient archicture and centuries of men working the gondolas - but now with the ubiquitous mobile phone. I do love a pattern, so the addition of striped tee-shirts echoing the stripey poles was a bonus!
